Governance

Wisborough Green Sports is a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO), registered in England & Wales on 14 August 2018, charity no. 1179541. It began operating on 1 November 2018, taking over from the Wisborough Green Sports Clubs Association founded in 1969.

Our charitable object

The promotion of community participation in healthy recreation for the benefit of the inhabitants of Wisborough Green (and surrounding areas), West Sussex by the provision of facilities for playing cricket, football, touch rugby, stoolball and any other sporting activities capable of promoting healthy recreation.

How the charity is run

WGS is a Foundation-model CIO: the trustees are the voting members, and an AGM each February reports to the wider membership and the clubs (the financial year ends 31 October). Trustees serve three-year terms, up to three consecutive, and are unpaid; the constitution provides for between three and nine trustees.
