Sport on the Green since 1741
Cricket, football and touch rugby on the Village Green — and a new pavilion on the way.
Wisborough Green Sports is the village charity behind cricket, football and touch rugby on one of Sussex’s finest village greens. We maintain the Pavilion, coordinate use of the Green for sport, and insure the clubs that play here — and we’re working with the Parish Council to replace the 1973 pavilion with a building the next fifty years deserve.
Our charitable object
The promotion of community participation in healthy recreation for the benefit of the inhabitants of Wisborough Green (and surrounding areas), West Sussex by the provision of facilities for playing cricket, football, touch rugby, stoolball and any other sporting activities capable of promoting healthy recreation.
A new pavilion for the village

Our clubs
Cricket
Cricket has been played on the Green since 1741, and the club describes itself as established pre-1741 — inclusive, active and growing, with a proud tradition. It fields 1st and 2nd Saturday league cricket, a Women's XI (hardball and softball leagues) and a Sunday XI, and runs a thriving junior programme of over 200 boys and girls aged 5–16, several of whom have represented Sussex at area and county level.
Football
A friendly village club offering football to all ages, back on the Green after the 2021–22 drainage works. The senior side currently plays in Division 1 North of the West Sussex Football League, with two senior teams since the 2023–24 season, and the youth section — welcomed as an associated club in 2022 — plays in the South Surrey Youth League, training on the Green and on the astro at Billingshurst.
Stoolball
The historic Sussex game — its county roots go back to around 1540 — has been played on the Green for generations. Stoolball is not currently being played at Wisborough Green, but the club would love to hear from anyone interested in helping to bring it back.
Touch Rugby
The Wisborough Wizards are the most social of the clubs — 20 to 25 at training every week, and "a good mix of people with different ages and abilities".
